FAQ

1) Do I need to be connected to the internet in order to open the document?

Yes. The validity of your use is verified once very month (30 days).  You may notice that as a result, you only need to be connected to the internet the first time for such  'validation'.  During that time frame (30 days) you will afterwards not require any connection  while you read the document.

2) Can I read the documents on my mobile device, be it an 'ultrabook' or a 'tablet?

It is not recommended.  The average size of the documents, as well as the added complexity of their internal encryption, exceeds the abilities of current mobile devices (2014). Using a common and ordinary computer (2.26 ghz, dual core), you will be able to read the documentation with relative ease and agility.

3) Can I forward the documentation to myself via email to read it on my mobile device?

You will not be able to do so. These files are generally larger than 50 megabytes, and exceed even Google's limitations on email use. Tip: get a 'network storage device' (NAS), which will allow the  access of your documents from any location.

4) What do I do if I lose my copy?

Do not worry. If you lose your copy, we will send you the information necessary in order to download a second copy.

5) I lost my email address and/or my email account was 'hacked'.

Regrettably, the accounts are links exclusively to your email account.  If you loose access to it,  you will have to pay for it a second time should you wish to obtain a second copy. (We strongly recommend that you backup your documents onto a CD/DVD immediately upon having downloaded the digital archive.

6) My download keeps getting disconnected at 'mid flight'.  What can I do?

The more stable connections to the internet typically are those made via VPN services. (Intermediaries unfortunately can affect normal downloads that are done without encryption.)  We recommend that you obtain a VPN connection, which in the majority of cases will resolve these issues. If you continue having difficulties, contact us.

7) Why do you use MD5?

In spite of the fact that the MD5 fingerprint is obsolete, it still remains in wide use and a solution to the modest purposes of the site. (Interent connections with encryption no longer use MD5 but rather succeeded by hashes of 2056" bits, as seen in Google.)  Operating systems as OSX (Apple.com) have typically used SHA1, but they also accept MD5 verifications without problem.

8) How legible are the documents?

Every document is easily legible, and we have included a sample piece of each collection in it description.  Certainly, with the change in technology, the more recent images are of a much higher quality--for the same price, one might point out.

9) What do I do if a document as a corrupted page?

We have done everything in our power to avoid common errors found in this type of project. However, should you find a document with an electronically corrupted sheet, contact us and we will send you a corrected version of the same page.

10) Do all .dmg digital archives contain 197 sheets?

We have tried to be the most consistently possible in the number of sheets within each digital archive.  However, in some rare instances--typically towards the end of a collection, the digital archive did not fill up with 197 sheets simply because there were an insufficient number of documents.

11) Are there any error in the quality of the documents I should be aware of ?

We lament to point out that in the thousands of sheets that were processed for this project, there were perhaps some 5 sheets that came out 'corrupted'.  We apologize for this error, which we were not able to detect in time.  However, if you receive a damaged sheet, please contact us and we will send you a legible replacement.

12) The page is horizontal and I cannot read it

We have verified every single page in the digital archive to make sure they are aligned correctly. However, there are some sheets with two different axis of lecture in them, and hence only one of these will be legible. It is important to point out that during the following year (2014), the reader will be provided with the ability to rotate pages, resolving these few anomalies. We apologize for the inconvenience.

13) Can I read the documentation on other computers?

As a general rule, you may not read the documentation in a computer other than that which was first used for validation.  (Transfer to a second computer will only be allowed after three (3) years.  As a result, we strongly recommend that you open the document for the first time ONLY WITH THE COMPUTER ON WHICH YOU INTEND TO READ THEM; otherwise, you will have to purchase a second license.

14) How trustworthy is a payment made via PAYPAL?

PAYPAL is perhaps one of the most trustworthy payment systems there exit, for the simple reason of a 'double wall' protection in case of theft: 1) payment via a credit card and b) payment via PAYAPL.  In other words, you pay WITH a credit card VIA PAYPAL, and you have at least two institutions on which to issue claims in case of identity theft, financial scam, or a fraudulent transaction.

15) Will you be adding more documentation to the site?

Yes.  Eventually, as we obtain access to new groups of primary resources, and as friends interested in the topic send us more documentation (preferably in digital format), we will be placing these sources in the page.

No podrá realizar dicha hazaña.
